Product Overview
Z08A is a random ethylene-methyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer (E-MA-GMA) that combines multiple functions such as toughening modification, reactive compatibility, and performance enhancement. It can be adapted to various polymer modification systems and processing technologies. Its core applications include impact modification for engineering plastics, polymer blend compatibilization, road asphalt modification, and functional modification of coatings and adhesive products, specifically improving the mechanical properties, processing performance, and long-term service performance of target systems.
Product Features
- The acrylate component provides softness and polarity, while maintaining excellent thermal stability during processing
- High acrylate content gives the material high flexibility (low crystallinity) and excellent impact absorption performance
- Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) provides chemical reactivity and can react with functional groups such as hydroxyl (OH), carboxyl (COOH), and amino (NH2), achieving optimal dispersion during melt blending with engineering thermoplastics.
- As a vinyl copolymer, Z08A can be compatible with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in any proportion, and at the same time has good compatibility with almost all other ethylene copolymers

Product Features and Benefits
- Dual-function monomer structure, providing both toughening and compatibility effects: MA content of 24% offers flexibility and polarity, GMA content of 8% provides chemical reaction sites, one product meets various modification needs
- Ultra-high flexibility, stable toughening effect: elongation at break reaches 1100%, bending modulus is less than 30 MPa, exhibits rubber-like elastomeric state at room temperature, with excellent impact absorption performance
- Strong process adaptability: medium flowability, melt index MI = 6 g/10min (190°C/2.16kg), suitable for injection molding, extrusion, granulation, and other processing methods, with a wide processing window
- Easy to disperse with little residue: Low melting point of 65°C, low processing temperature, easily melts and disperses when blended with engineering plastics such as polyester, and is not prone to unmelted particles
- Excellent thermal stability: The acrylate system is not easily decomposed under high-temperature processing conditions and can withstand the processing temperatures required for engineering plastic blends.
- Stable and controllable quality: The products are either self-produced by our company or custom-manufactured by major domestic and international factories, with each batch strictly tested to ensure stable performance with minimal fluctuation
- Wide compatibility: Fully compatible with polyethylene resins such as PE and LDPE, can be directly added to polyolefin systems without issues of layering or precipitation
TYPICAL APPLICATION FIELDS
- Engineering plastics modification industry: Used for impact modification of pure resins such as PBT, PET, PPS, as well as engineering plastic alloys like PC/PBT, PC/PET, PC/ABS, and can also serve as a reactive compatibilizer for polyester/polyolefin blend systems to solve the issue of phase separation and improve the mechanical properties and surface quality of materials.
- Road construction materials industry: Used as an asphalt performance enhancer for modified asphalt, improving asphalt's high-temperature rutting resistance and low-temperature cracking resistance, and enhancing the adhesion between asphalt and aggregates.
- Adhesive Products Industry: Used as a base material modifier in formulated hot melt adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and adhesive tapes, to improve the flexibility of the adhesive layer and bonding strength.
- Coatings and Adhesives Industry: As a metal surface adhesion promoter, it is used in coatings and structural adhesives for metal substrates to improve the adhesion of coatings and adhesive layers to metal substrates.
Suggestions for use
- When used as a toughening agent, the recommended addition amount is 5%~15%. For transparent/natural systems, the recommended addition amount is 2%~5%, and the specific amount should be adjusted according to the target toughness requirements.
- When used as a compatibilizer, the recommended dosage is 2%–8%, adjusted according to the polarity differences of the blend system.
- GMA groups are reactive. When blended with resins such as PET, PBT, and PA that have active end groups, attention should be paid to controlling the processing temperature and residence time to avoid excessive crosslinking that could cause abnormal increases in melt viscosity.
- It is recommended to pre-dry at 60~80°C for 2~4 hours before processing to remove surface-adsorbed moisture.
- The product is granular and should be stored in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures.
